Eventyrlyst og en sterk trang til \u00e5 utforske preget livet hennes. Dette er beretningen om Anna Elisabeth Westerlund. Men det er ogs\u00e5 en fortelling om et helt spesielt forskningsprosjekt: I 1971 var Bente Alver i gang med \u00e5 forske p\u00e5 synske, og de to kom i kontakt. Sammen med politiet og Westerlund deltok Alver i s\u00f8k etter forsvunne personer. Hun satt i Westerlunds godstol og ved hennes sengekant. Etter Westerlunds d\u00f8d var det Alver som fikk testamentert alle hennes papirer.  Dette er en uvanlig bok om et uvanlig liv og et s\u00e6regent vennskap, som ogs\u00e5 gir innblikk i hvordan det er \u00e5 leve som synsk.
