Med udgangspunkt i 1500- og 1600-tallets norske trolddomsprocesser belyses magiens plads i sp\u00e6ndingsfeltet mellem elitens og det almindelige menneskes syn p\u00e5 magi. Den magtkamp, som disse sp\u00e6ndinger skabte, \u00e5bner for en bedre forst\u00e5else af hekseforf\u00f8lgelserne.<\/p>\n<p>Alver er optaget af betydningen af netv\u00e6rk og relationer mennesker imellem og mellem magter og mennesker. Forf\u00f8lgelserne var rettet mod dem, der t\u00e6nkte anderledes end eliten, og i udgangspunktet var det kirken, som stod bag ideen, om hvem heksen var.<\/p>\n<p>Men forf\u00f8lgelserne kan ikke bare ses som magt ud\u00f8vet ovenfra. De hentede meget af sin styrke og intensitet i rygtet og rygtespredningen. Det gjorde de mist\u00e6nktes naboer og undertiden n\u00e6re familie til vigtige akt\u00f8rer i trolddomsprocesserne. Netop erkendelsen af den magt, rygtet har som kollektivets stemme, \u00e5bner for en indsigt, der r\u00e6kker frem mod vor egen tid.<\/p>\n<p>Forf\u00f8lgelsen af den anderledes t\u00e6nkende sker stadig.
