Derfor er ogs\u00e5 spill et sentralt litter\u00e6rt motiv hos mange forfattere. I litteraturen finner vi de beste og mest dyptloddende fremstillingene av fenomenet spill med alle dets sosiale, psykologiske og filosofiske implikasjoner. Casanova, Laclos, Puskjin og Dostojevskij, Hamsun, Baudelaire, Nasbokov, Zweig, Auster og Zevin er vidt forskjellige forfattere, men har alle interessante perspektiver p\u00e5 spill.
