Utredninger og diskusjoner p\u00e5gikk i \u00e5revis, f\u00f8r bystyret i Oslo den 19. januar 2000 vedtok at Fjordbyen var fremtiden. Det ble lyst ut en arkitektkonkurranse og vinneren ble etter k\u00e5ret. Nils Torps arkitekter vant med sitt prosjekt Utsyn, knepent foran Sn\u00f8hettas Fjordparken. Fjorten \u00e5r etter st\u00e5r Tjuvholmen ferdig. Den siste spiker er sl\u00e5tt, folk har flyttet inn. Den nye bydelen er et faktum, til avtalt tid og til avtalt pris, med et kunstmuseum i verdensklasse, tegnet av den legendariske Italienske arkitekten Renzo Piano.
