I denne boken tar et knippe av landets aller fremste arkeologer, kunsthistorikere og historikere for seg dette smykket fra norsk middelalder. <\/p>\n

Forfatterne viser hvordan kirkebygget knytter an til noen av de viktigste og mest dramatiske hendelsene i sin samtid – det nye norske konged\u00f8mmet, kristendommens gjennomslag, korstogene i Midt\u00f8sten og m\u00f8tet mellom kristen og muslimsk kultur i Europa.
