Blant hans bokutgivelser kan nevnes <em>Hitler eller Quisling<\/em> (1989), <em>Kampen om Norges sjel<\/em> (2001), <em>Dr\u00f8mmen om det fullkomne samfunn<\/em> (2010), <em>Fra Marx til Quisling<\/em> (1983, ny revidert utgave 2012) og <em>Det norske demokratiet og dets fiender<\/em> (2018, skrevet sammen med Nik Brandal).<\/p>\n<p>S\u00f8rensen har deltatt i ledelsen for flere forsknings- prosjekter, blant annet om utviklingen av en norsk nasjonal identitet, rettsoppgj\u00f8ret etter andre verdens- krig og norsk-svenske relasjoner i 200 \u00e5r.
